Early mornings at Hoist HQ alone (okay, not that early) means AC/DC on the office loudspeakers while cranking out technical specifications for exciting new things.
Thank you SilverFast scanner software. Just as I had forgotten what it is like to install software on a Windows machine you come to help me and my Mac.
So thank you. Thank you for placing that quaint shortcut on my desktop to the SF Universal Launcher and thank you for also placing an icon in the dock so I have have two ways to launch your program. Most of all I must thank you for crashing the Finder so bad I had to reboot to bring it back. I had forgotten what it was like to experience data loss due to system crashes.
It would appear that you failed to place a scanning indicator in the system tray, leaving me a little disappointed.
Just a warning since they sound similar: The Hills Are Alive, soft and cuddly. The Hills Have Eyes, very scary.

Umberto Eco talks about open texts, those that have many blank spots where reader interpretation can thrive. In the age of DSLRs and the photographic norms from Flickr where aestetics have become an unnatural obsession with 'sharpness' the technicalities of recording an image leaves little room for an open text (there are of course other way to make a photograph open). It is only when the equipment performs below par that we get an excercise in reader interpretation. Take for example the above photo that I got back from the photo lab yesterday. Somehow my shutter had become sticky after the first two exposures and now I'm left with 34 very open texts to interpret.
DrupalCamp Copenhagen is happening this weekend on the 15th and 16th. It's the first major Drupal event in this little country, but there are still over 100 people confirmed and the camp is totally sold out. I'm getting jazzed up about attending because I share office space with the main organizer morten.dk and he's been working very hard on setting up this DrupalCamp.
I'll be there along with Hoist and rumour has it that I'll be doing an introduction to Views and CCK, the two most important Drupal modules. It will be for complete beginners and I will show you how you can set up a simple book review website including editorial workflows without writing a single line of code.
If you're already registered Hoist is hosting the pre-registration (get your badge and a beer) on Friday. Stop by Hoist HQ from 16:00. I've got business in another part of town, but will be there from 17:30 or so.
Caught without my bike yesterday I was left at a bus stop for 10 minutes where I could enjoy the yellow light as the cars blasted past me in the misty rain. This is a lumiere video. The video contains no audio.
Michael has many many of these videos from his train rides around the UK and elsewhere. Now I will add one to the mix from a commute in Northwestern Copenhagen on a dull morning.
