Topic “perspective”

Yesterday I saw a cop walk into a Dunkin' Donuts and the lady next to me on the train was reading about cloth diapers. Today she wore purple nail polish and read .

Dropped Camera Example Screenshot

I just dropped my camera on the floor, but even such a seemingly random act isn't. I made these choices (among others):

  • When to drop the camera
  • The orientation of the camera when dropped
  • The height from which to drop the camera
  • When to start recording and when to stop
  • I chose not to edit my raw footage

Making video requires just as many choices as writing, but I have a feeling many make these choices unconsciously. Videobloggers should sit down more often and think through all the choices they made for their newest video — conscious and unconscious. If more of the unconscious choices becomes conscious I think the videos will become better.

I wrote something else about possibilities for intervention in video before.
